Measurements

Tonight I held my camera in front of my face and snapped a picture. Damn, I've lost a lot of weight in the last month. It really shows in my face. Out of curiosity (and procrastinating because really I should be typing up some of my story) I decided to take my own measurements. Weight is one thing. Body mass is another. It's hard to take your own measurements, but I think I was more or less accurate based on the instructions I found online.

I can fit into two pairs of pants that I've stubbornly kept since 2004, when I was at my skinniest. Nowadays they're more comfortable than they ever were when they fit. They're even loose!

Me (currently): 35-27-37
(yes, I really did just post that to my blog)

I couldn't help but compare to my two favorite supermodels:
Heidi Klum: 35-24-34
Giselle Bundchen: 34-24-34 (on her comp card) 36-24-35 (according to Cosmo, March 2000).

Note: my waist will NEVER be 24". I think it's physically impossible because my rib cage is pretty large and my waist is really short. All my height is in my legs.

And of course couldn't help but compare myself to two classics in their heydays...

Marilyn Monroe: 36-25-27 (estimated to be her actual measurements, though the studio publicized that she was: 37-23-36)
Elizabeth Taylor: 36-21-36 (damn!)

And, finally, my favorite celeb:

Jennifer Lopez: measurements unconfirmed, really. Best online guess: 34-34-44

Fascinating! Seriously, what did people do before the internet???

I found this picture of myself in my camera from my last vacation. It's so funny to me because it's one of the first pictures I've seen where I really look like my mom. Or not so much look like her, but definitely capture the essence of her. Anyhow, I really like it.

Same here - All legs, short torso but not as tall as you! Can't post my measurements, because after 3 chillins it is not a pretty sight. :) Meg

No way was Marilyn Monroe only 2 inches larger in her hips than waist. Just look at ANY picture of her at any point in her career. That woman had curves top and bottom.
